What If You Took Responsibility For Everything?

Hello.

It’s a bold statement isn’t it.  I should clarify this a little.

What if you took the responsibility instead of placing blame?

How does that feel?  The only thing you can control in life is you and how you respond or react to life and what it throws at you.  If you try to control external factors; people, teams, parents, partner, siblings, the weather…  you will lose.  You will.  It will not happen how you wanted or expected it to and you will no doubt get hurt, disappointed and probably resentful that things  did not happen how you wanted them to.

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference

Which is all well and good, only if you are ready to take on the challenge of responsibility for your life.  As it is.  Now.  Today.

So, if the challenge is for you to look down at yourself now or in the mirror and take a good look.  You are perfect at being you.  You have come through a lot to get there today.  Now is your chance to start something different.  For you.  Just you.

I want you to take a good look at you and start something new today.  Please, please, please make it small.  Make it easy.  The impact is unknown.  You don’t have control over that bit.

But the bit you do have is…  change.  You can do that bit.  Be it eating one extra piece of fruit a day, drinking a glass of warm lemon water first thing, or be it just to stop for ten minutes after lunch and visualise what you want the rest of you day to look like.

You can do it.  I am behind you and you can do it.

  1. Brilliant piece Kerry. Very powerful – you mean we get to decide, respond rather than react. That has to be an incredibly empowering way to move forward. Trying to control others or external factors is a losing game – good to be reminded of that.
The current situation with the UK’s weather and our response to it is quite a good analogy…. Weathering the storm or plain learning to dance in the rain 🙂 Start something new..? Pondering that one. loving your new site & blog. Well done x
